Specifically, this update targets devices that run Windows 10, version 1803 or later versions that are either Home Edition or Pro Edition. Devices that run Windows 10 Home or Pro Edition that are joined to an Active Directory or Azure Active Directory domain, or are WSUS or WUfB managed, are also excluded from this automatic update.
When the Windows 10 October 2020 Update is ready for your device, it will be available to download from the Windows Update page in Settings. Choose a time that works best for you to download the update. You'll then need to restart your device and complete the installation. After that, your device will be running Windows 10, version 20H2. (To check whether you're already running the October 2020 Update, select View update history on the Windows Update settings page.) Also note the following:

You’ll get these updates automatically after you download the Update Assistant.
If you don’t want to wait for an automatic update, or if you want to check for quality updates (which are more frequent and include small fixes and security updates), you can update Windows 10 yourself.
